在深入探討Other, Others, The Other 跟 Another的用法之前，必須先從Other跟Another說明起:
Other跟Another可以當作限定詞也可以當作代名詞，
底下分別會說明限定詞和代名詞的用法
A 限定詞 Other + UN/Ns:
當成限定詞時，意思有"另外的"及"其他的"
後面的名詞常是不可數名詞或是複數名詞
後面若要加單數名詞的話，Other前面必須加另一個限定詞
1. 限定詞 Other + 不可數名詞 UN
Typhoon news and other information are constantly updated.
颱風的消息和其他資訊會不斷更新
2. 限定詞 Other + 複數名詞 Ns
There must be other ways to solve this problem.
一定有其他可以解決這個問題的方法
3. 限定詞 The/Any/One/This/No/Some/Every + 限定詞 Other + 單數名詞 N
The other boy standing over there is my best friend.
那邊站著的另一位男生是我最好的朋友
MOBY DICK has sold some 10 millions copies, more than any other book but the Bible.
白鯨記已經賣出大約一千萬本了，除了聖經，比其他任何一本書都要多
My friend joined the army because there was no other job for him.
我朋友加入陸軍因為他沒有其他工作可以選擇了
We will make sire something like that doesn’t happen to some other kid again.
我們會確定那樣的事情不會再發生在其他小孩身上
B 代名詞 Other:
當成代名詞時，前面通常會有The，以"The Other"方式出現
而The Other是指一個前面沒有提到過的人事物
說到這邊應該會有人問說:
代名詞的 The Other 跟 限定詞的 The Other 有什麼分別?
限定詞的 The Other 後面要跟著名詞
代名詞的 The Other 後面不用再加名詞
Jean held the hamburger in one hand and the coke in the other (hand).
珍一隻手拿著漢堡，另一隻(手)拿著可樂
I have two books. One is old, and the other (book) is new.
我有兩本書，一本是舊的，另一本是新的(兩本書，一本是舊的，因為剩下一本，就可以用The來指定那另一本書)
C 代名詞 Others:
代名詞Others是Other的複數
Others只能當作代名詞不能當作限定詞
當要代表的數量大於1時就可以用Others
We cannot expect others to help us.
我們不能指望他人來幫我們
D 代名詞 The Others:
My dad has four siblings. One of them is a man and the others are women.
我爸有四個兄弟姊妹，其中一個是男的，剩下的都是女生(一樣是指定的概念，一個是男生，指定剩下三個都是女生)
E 限定詞 Another + N:
當成限定詞時，意思有"再一個"及"別的不同的(人事物)"
Another 由不定冠詞 An+other所形成
1. 限定詞 Another + 單數名詞 N
用Another表示額外另一樣東西，必須加單數名詞
Give me another pen please.
請給我另一支筆
Would you like to have another cup of coffee?
請問你還要再來一杯咖啡嗎?
F 代名詞 Another:
Is there a quicker way to move all the stuffs from one room to another?
有沒有一個更快可以將所有東西搬到另一個房間的辦法啊?
She is the best model I have ever seen. There has never been another like her.
他是我所看過最棒的模特兒了，從未有別人像他這樣
